New Delhi: ORGANIC INDIA, a brand known for making organic tea and health supplements, is all set to get into skin care segment by the end of 2009. The company will soon open a dedicated manufacturing facility for the new products. The company also will launch a range of six to eight skin care products under the ORGANIC INDIA brand name.
"We are the only company that produces authentic organic products.
The primary raw material used in making our skin care range will
be Neem and Tulsi,"
said Krishan Gupta, ORGANIC INDIA, managing director and global
chief executive officer.
However, Gupta refused to divulge additional detail about the new product range. "the project is at a very preliminary stage and I will not be able to share the price or other details. We will also set up a separate manufacturing facility for the cosmetics," he said. The company already has plants in Azamgarh, Lucknow, Gujarat and Rajasthan.
ORGANIC INDIA plans to launch 24 new products by end of 2009, which includes the cosmetics range. The company, which is based in India, operates in around 25 countries and has already invested $20 million in past few years and will be investing $10 million in next one year.
The company, which sells through 300 multi-branded outlets and 80 to 100 department stores, also has 53 standalone outlets. The company will add 25 more exclusive stores by March 2009. Almost 40 percent of its sales come from exclusive outlets.
