AZAMGARH WILL host a one-day Tulsi Mahotsav tomorrow. The unique agriculture festival is being organized by ORGANIC INDIA in association with Tulsi farmers of the region.
Participants from various countries will be converging in Azamgarh to celebrate the festival that involves fun and frolic with farmers - ethnically and traditionally. The foreign guests included Dr. Joseph Mercola from USA who is a global leader in natural health care & organic agriculture and its propagation. Film actor Shabana Azmi will also attend the function. This is the only such festival held anywhere in the world to celebrate the Queen of Herbs, Tulsi (Holy Basil). The festival is held to honour Tulsi and to pay tribute to Tulsi farmers who have converted the ravaged soil into heavenly fields of prosperity.
Manager corporate communications ORGANIC INDIA Vandita J Samuel said the Mahotsava had emerged as a newest form of harvest festivals in the country involving large number of Tulsi farmers in Azamgarh, which has become a major centre of Tulsi cultivation in the country. She said the fair was being organized every year at the end of the Tulsi harvest in Azamgarh.
