General Description

An evergreen vine on India’s Malabar Coast, Black pepper is the greyish-black, wrinkled fruit of the plant and has a spicy, pungent aroma. Used as a culinary spice and medicinal herb, the active component of pepper, called “piperine,” contains natural alkaloids that are responsible for its health benefits.
